In this position, you will work as a Senior Specialist, Employee Relations & Investigations, responsible for resolving employee relations issues, designing standard operating protocols, and advising leaders on performance management and workplace conduct. This role requires a high level of autonomy, with minimal supervision, and involves investigating workplace issues, recommending outcomes, and managing employee data. You will also develop and implement investigation plans, drive timely closure of open cases, and analyze case activity to determine trends and recommendations for proactive actions.
This role is 5 days onsite at the Chicago Assembly Plant. As a Senior Specialist, you will be a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to employee relations and will serve as a strategic partner, promoting ethical and compliant behavior that is aligned with company policy and government regulations.
You will support Salaried Personnel activities, including coaching, counseling, and educating Salaried employees on HR policies, performance management, processes, and programs. You will also foster an effective, inclusive work environment/culture and relationships, balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company goals and values.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience. You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience conducting investigations, including interviewing and dispositioning, and overall case management. You should also have a minimum of 2 years of Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In addition to the required qualifications, having a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience, 2 or more years of human resources generalist experience, 2 or more years of working in a manufacturing environment, 2 years or more of experience working with the UAW or other labor union, Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP), or Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) would be beneficial.
