We're seeking a thoughtful, multidisciplinary Associate General Counsel, Product & Privacy, to be a strategist and thought partner to our business teams in creating the next-generation platform for AI development.
This lawyer will lead product and privacy legal initiatives for our cutting-edge products and will report to Scale’s Senior Director and Associate General Counsel responsible for product counsel, privacy, and other areas.
Key responsibilities include identifying and managing legal risks in product development, developing the product and privacy legal functions, partnering closely with technical and non-technical teams, and being a subject matter expert on US and global privacy laws.
Ideal candidates will have a technology background, privacy expertise, and fluency in AI, intellectual property, and consumer protection law. They should also have experience providing strategic legal guidance that advances data-driven business goals while facilitating regulatory compliance, managing legal risk, and enhancing customer trust.
The ideal candidate will have 9+ years of legal experience, with a focus on emerging technologies and privacy and data protection counseling. They should also have expertise in US and global privacy regulations, familiarity with launching products, and experience advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the technology space.
Nice to haves include familiarity with the legal and ethical implications of AI, experience developing a privacy program, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
