Corporate Counsel, Telecommunications & Regulatory

Dialpad is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Telecommunications & Regulatory to serve as the Company's primary legal authority across its regulatory surface area.

The successful candidate will partner directly with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to build scalable compliance infrastructure, provide proactive legal guidance, and ensure that Dialpad's products and business practices remain compliant with an increasingly demanding legal environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Telecommunications Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the Company's subject matter expert on FCC and state PUC regulatory frameworks, provide legal guidance on STIR/SHAKEN compliance, and manage regulatory filings and reporting obligations.
• Voice, Messaging & AI Compliance: Serve as the Company's authoritative resource on call recording consent law, advise on TCPA and FTSA exposure, and review Dialpad's AI-powered features for compliance with applicable consent and disclosure requirements.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Participate in product reviews and feature launch processes, collaborate with the Privacy, Security, and Commercial Legal teams, and advise Sales and Customer Success on complex regulatory questions.
• Legal Operations & Scalability: Develop and maintain a comprehensive consent and disclosure matrix, author training materials, and leverage AI-powered legal research and regulatory monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Four to eight years of legal experience with substantive exposure to telecommunications regulatory matters.
• Demonstrated familiarity with FCC rules, the Communications Act, and their application to VoIP and cloud communications providers.
• Practical experience advising on call recording consent law, TCPA, and FTSA.
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and emerging state AI legislation.
