Job Summary
You'll join Carta's Contracts team as a Senior Associate Lawyer, working with sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients. Your responsibilities will include negotiating and managing high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, serving as a primary day-to-day contact for clients, maintaining client playbooks, collaborating with junior lawyers and paralegals, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Carta's legal technology suite.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts, including NDAs, confidentiality agreements, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted advisor relationships
- Maintain and update client playbooks on an ongoing basis
- Collaborate with and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Carta's legal technology suite
Requirements
- 4+ years of post law school corporate or transactional experience
- Experience working with asset managers, investment banks, or other financial services firms
- Law degree and licensed to practice in the Americas (US/Canada)
- Commercially minded and client-focused, with excellent communication skills
- Tech-savvy and adaptable, with experience working with AI-backed tools

Salary Range
The expected cash compensation range for this role is:
- $119,000 - $148,750 in Hamilton Township, NJ
- $133,000 - $166,250 in Seattle, WA
- $112,000 - $140,000 in Sandy, UT
