The Role
As a Junior Paralegal, you will join Carta Law, the largest AI-native law firm for private capital. You will work on supporting lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts, managing document lifecycles, tracking deadlines, communicating with counterparties, and assisting with execution.
Responsibilities
- Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts
- Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution
- Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters
- Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent is preferred; prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes is a plus but not required
- Eager to learn and grow, motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice
- Organised and efficient, prioritising well, managing competing deadlines, and keeping matters moving without losing attention to detail
- Strong communicator, writing and speaking clearly and professionally
- Self-starter, taking initiative, working independently when needed, and proactively flagging issues before they become problems
- Team player, collaborating effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment
Salary and Benefits
The expected cash compensation range for this role is:
- $64,855 - $81,099 in Hamilton, NJ (hourly rate of $31.18 - $38.99)
- $72,485 - $90,640 in Seattle, WA (hourly rate of $34.85 - $43.58)
- $61,040 - $76,328 in Sandy, UT (hourly rate of $29.54 - $36.83)
