Job Overview

You'll join Carta's Funds team in the UK under Carta Law, the largest AI-native law firm for private capital. As a Paralegal, you'll work on preparing LP transfer documents, liaising with transfer parties, and assisting with execution workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements)
  • Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows
  • Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters
  • Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route

Requirements

  • Eager to learn and grow, motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice
  • Organised and efficient, with ability to prioritise well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail
  • Strong communicator, able to write and speak clearly and professionally
  • Self-starter, able to take initiative, work independently when needed, and proactively flag issues before they become problems
  • Team player, able to collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams
  • Legally educated (preferred), with an undergraduate Law degree or equivalent; a GDL is welcome
