Nightshift Cleaning Team Leader

As a Nightshift Cleaning Team Leader, you will be responsible for all day-to-day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the cleaning service on site. You will need to provide sufficient cover and allocate cleaning tasks during periods of staff absence or holidays, monitor cleaning operatives' attendance, communicate any staffing issues immediately to your line manager and respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame as required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with the team to maintain a good standard of cleaning within the building
• Delegating duties and prioritising tasks
• Ensuring all holiday and sickness is covered
• Assisting with the training of staff and carrying out toolbox talk delivery
• Complying with the requirements of Health & Safety, other relevant legislation and premises policies
• Keeping an accurate record of the operatives contracted hours, material orders and holidays
• Reporting any maintenance defects to the Supervisor
• Understanding and observing ABM and Client site rules at all times
• Ensuring a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained at all times
• Wearing protective clothing (PPE) as issued
• Observing all Company and Client statutory fire and safety regulations and promoting good safety habits and methods of work
• Dealing with any complaints that fall within the job holder's duties and reporting these immediately to the Cleaning Supervisor
• Responding to all general requests from manager and help desk requests

Essential skills include:

• Team leader and cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to communicate at all levels, with good written and spoken English
• Strong customer care and leadership skills
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative
• Flexible and proactive attitude
• Understanding and knowledge of health and safety policies
• Representing ABM values on site by being presentable, uniformed and helpful at all times
