About the Role
As a Facilities Operations Technician at xAI, you'll operate and maintain critical facility systems powering supercomputing data centers. You'll work hands-on with MEP systems, tackling maintenance, operations, and repairs to ensure peak performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Ensure site safety and environmental compliance for MEP infrastructure.
- Provide operational expertise for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems at the data center facility.
- Routinely inspect areas to maintain performance measures and proactively report problems.
- Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, EOPs.
- Perform daily inspections of critical systems.
- Identify and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns.
- Develop and implement energy monitoring metrics.
- Support commissioning efforts by witnessing equipment startup and monitoring construction progress.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or 2+ years of hands-on operations/facilities work experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles and systems.
- Experience with critical systems documentation, Building and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, and Operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or Building Management Systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and technical writing skills in English.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools.
- Work in tight quarters with physical dexterity.
- Lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
- Work at elevated heights (up to 100 feet) with safety gear.
- Work in extreme outdoor environments.
- Flexible shifts for 24x7 coverage.
- Pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks.
- Valid driver’s license.
