Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team in Japan. As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for addressing a wide range of safety concerns within our community, including personal safety threats, domestic violence, suicide or self-harm, child exploitation, physical assault, and sexual assault.
The successful candidate will assist with escalated issues and initiate the user dispute request process for personal safety incidents. You will investigate cases involving trauma or personal harm, negotiate collaboratively, and verify facts to reach policy-based determinations for effective resolution. Additionally, you will maintain high levels of confidentiality while performing investigations and comprehensively document findings through written reports and summaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address safety concerns, including personal safety threats and harmful circumstances
- Provide empathetic communication and support to survivors
- Investigate cases involving trauma or personal harm
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and enhance internal policies and tools
- Manage cases with varying complexities involving safety concerns
- Implement emergency plans and communicate effectively with individuals needing support
- Summarise incidents and keep key stakeholders informed
Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience in customer experience, mediation, social work, psychology, emergency services, or a similar role
- Background in advocacy, crisis management, mediation, clinical/non-clinical social work, or e-commerce customer service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise tasks and communications
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Fluent Japanese and English (spoken and written)
