Description
As Regional Ocean Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Ocean P&L for France, Spain, and Italy. This includes scaling volume and increasing yield, providing market-specific intelligence, and designing Ocean FCL products. You will also be responsible for generating customized go-to-market strategies for customers, analyzing P&L, and creating reports for your regions. Additionally, you will help with tenders and RFQs, interface with procurement and pricing teams, and identify and drive improvement in go-to-market, operational, and financial processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Ocean P&L for your region through scaling volume and increasing yield
- Providing market-specific intelligence and directly interfacing with customers
- Designing Ocean FCL products and generating customized go-to-market strategies for customers
- Analyzing the P&L and creating reports for your regions
- Helping with tenders and RFQs for your district to secure regional and global customers
- Interfacing with procurement and pricing teams to drive profitable business, identify growth opportunities, and capture market-specific knowledge
- Identifying and driving improvement in go-to-market, operational, and financial processes
- Driving volume forecasting and allocation strategies for your region
- Participating in P&L reviews and book of business growth rhythms
- Partnering with commercial teams to understand and translate customers' growth potential and levers
- Driving financial health levers for your district including quoting, invoicing, and dispute escalation
- Building and maintaining local relationships with our core ocean carriers
Prerequisites include 5+ years of prior Ocean Freight experience at a top freight forwarder or carrier or 5+ years of supply chain experience and a BA/BS Degree. Mandatory experience in logistics pricing and procurement role, proficient English, French + Spanish or Italian mandatory, ability to dig out and interpret data, past P&L management experience preferred, bias to Action, Process, Structure, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, an obsession with client happiness, courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it, be positive, have fun, take your mission seriously but yourself not too seriously, and a driving license.
