Description
Play an integral part in delivering effective recycling and waste services at Spirit Aerosystems Belfast. This role involves ensuring receptacles are emptied, recyclables are separated to secure best rebate value, and waste services complement rather than disrupt other business activities. Key responsibilities include reviewing and adhering to safe systems of work, policies, and procedures; adhering to a 'clean as you go' approach; wearing PPE as directed and maintaining in good condition; decanting/emptying waste receptacles as required; ensuring waste streams are segregated properly; moving waste receptacles to ensure provision in areas of need; coordinating provision of bins, skips, and collections by waste contractors; ensuring adherence to work schedules; ensuring waste management does not disrupt client operations; operating balers and compactors and other equipment; promptly reporting defects of equipment; completing check sheets as required; maintaining excellent housekeeping of all waste areas; supporting communication and awareness activities as required; liaising with Site Waste Manager to deliver customer satisfaction.
Personal development is also a key aspect of this role, with opportunities to attend training programmes and take on new skills to enhance the company's profile and service offering.
The ideal candidate will have a full, clean driving licence and experience as a waste recycling operative, preferably in a manufacturing facility environment. They should also be confident, flexible, reliable, responsible, calm under pressure, and willing to undergo training and coaching in line with organisational philosophy. A positive attitude towards and supporting of change is essential, as well as a motivation to provide a professional service.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with a pay rate of £12.80 per hour.
