Description
We are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded SAP Solution Architect to join our Life Sciences team. As a Solution Architect, you will lead the definition of solution architecture for S/4HANA based transformation programs, addressing critical dimensions of business processes, data & analytics, applications, and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in business development and pre-sales activities, including proposals and responses to RFPs and RFIs.
- Lead the definition of the Solution Architecture of challenging IT/business transformation projects in the Life Sciences industry, predominantly SAP-based.
- Ensure that technical solutions, platforms, and systems satisfy business requirements and future needs.
- Develop and implement an enterprise roadmap for SAP S/4HANA and a suite of new solutions, including leadership of the ERP non-functional roadmap and related enterprise-wide integration requirements.
- Provide digital capabilities to enhance and transform the business and to enable new business models.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and technical solutions for focus areas such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Leonardo, SAP Cloud Platform, digital platforms, Cloud Integration, API Management, AI, Advanced Analytics, and IoT.
- Ensure a well-structured and defined solution architecture framework, delivering to time, cost, and quality and within budget.
- Ensure adherence to solution governance and enterprise architecture principles and standards.
- Lead and participate in key governance forums, including Architecture Review Boards, Program Boards, Change Control Boards, and Integration Management meetings.
- Proactively manage, monitor, and report on the identification, impact, dependencies, risks, mitigations, and implementation status of solution architecture topics and areas for improvement; and own the resolution of solution architecture issues.
- Liaise with 3rd party providers and vendors as needed.
- Manage internal consulting resources, 3rd party provider resources, and contract resources.
Requirements:
- Superior client interaction skills, ability to build trusted relationships to design and implement solutions for transformation programs jointly with clients.
- Ability to inspire, convince, and influence to gain buy-in from senior business management and stakeholders.
- Superior problem management skills (problem identification, structuring, resolution) and moderation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging constraints.
- Ability to collaborate within the Firm and to leverage existing resources.
- Superior team leadership skills, proven through project leadership positions in previous roles, with experience of establishing high-performing teams and an interest in developing team members.
- Extensive work experience in a consulting company, working in large-scale SAP transformation programs.
- Extensive work experience in the Life Sciences industry, profound know-how of Life Sciences challenges and business dynamics, and of validation implications for SAP program delivery.
- Proven delivery capability for large-scale SAP-based transformation programs within and outside of Life Sciences.
- Practical application of project management life cycle principles and methodologies (SAP Activate, including key concepts like Model Company, SAP Value Lifecycle Management etc.).
- Experience with solution and enterprise architecture frameworks and models (e.g. TOGAF).
- Considerable SAP solution architecture and enterprise architecture experience, familiar with typical solution challenges in a large-scale transformation program.
- Demonstrated skills in executing an Agile-based design and delivery approach.
- Ideally experienced in process analysis and business process design approaches.
- Solid understanding of major business processes along the value chain in the Life Sciences industry.
- Solid understanding of major data objects and SAP enterprise structures.
- Solid understanding of a range of SAP applications, including S/4HANA, e.g. BW4HANA, Ariba, IBP, MDG, etc.
- Solid understanding of applying technologies like Cloud, APIs, AI, and IoT as part of SAP Life Sciences solutions.
- Experience in delivering SAP using a value-driven transformation approach.
- Willingness to travel extensively in Europe and ability to work within a European environment is essential.
