Description
As the Senior Cost Value Engineer for Intelligence Systems & Space programmes, you will drive the strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles.
You will be the end-to-end owner of the supply chain for the Anduril Intelligence & Space business line, responsible for engineering support, vendor onboarding & development, as well as sourcing, pricing, and negotiating for the total Bill of Material (BOM).
Key responsibilities include:
- Deep diving into the engineering Bill of Material (BOM), working closely with engineering to ensure parts being designed can be sourced & procured at a reasonable target level
- Conducting supplier selection for a specific product, leveraging the approved supplier list as well as working to onboard unique vendors to support the needs of the Space & Intelligence business team
- Driving on-time delivery utilising unique solutions to break the mould of traditional Space industry lead-times and supply constraints
- Partnering with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development via activities such as concept scoping, feature trade-off/trade tables, should cost/clean sheet models, joint design development, simulation of mechanical & electronics designs
- Driving the development and consolidation of a manufacturing Bill of Material, working with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing, to ramp production internally and with suppliers with high flexibility
- Managing the total cost of the programme, including NPI & mass production throughout NPI
- Conducting value-stream mapping to optimise supply network lead time and flexibility
- Completing the BOM risk assessment, including alternate component sourcing, etc.
- Ensuring completion of all component qualifications, ahead of production
- Reducing complexity: commonality optimisation & component/supplier rationalisation
- Leading all cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve to product cost, maximising the total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
- Managing ad-hoc cost issues, e.g., tariffs/import export cost, and cost inflation
- Managing supply issues as they arise, ensuring on-time delivery at or below target cost
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field and 8+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
