Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness, working on a full-time basis with a salary of up to £53,118 per annum, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of technicians to diagnose and carry out repairs to reduce plant downtime, supporting initiatives to anticipate machine failures and prevent reoccurrence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out plant upgrades and modifications to the required standards
• Reporting all work carried out through a computerized maintenance management system
• Developing and implementing a programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimize downtime
• Being available for planned maintenance shutdown periods
• Liaising with external contractors on specific repairs/maintenance
• Implementing and ensuring compliance with all company policies, processes, and procedures

Requirements:

• Experienced Mechanical/Multi-Skilled Engineer working in a process or production environment
• A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a changing environment
• An HNC/HND/C+G (or Industry equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is preferable
• Good level of experience working to clearly defined KPIs and delivering continuous improvement within an operational environment
• Knowledge and practical experience of large Conveyors, Chain Drives, Hydraulics, material Compactors, Shredders, Overhead cranes, and Pneumatics is desirable
• Experience of working within a time-critical process environment is essential
• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with others, technical and non-technical
