Description
We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer (m/f/d) Composite Design to conceptualize structural components/assemblies and guide a team of engineers designing composite components or assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery within budget, creating detailed specifications and designs, including necessary tooling and lay-up books.
What you'll do
As a Principal Engineer (m/f/d) Composite Design, you will be in charge of producing designs for structural assemblies (including the respective tooling) and drawings as well as providing full documentation in English. You will work closely as part of a team of designers and be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of projects within agreed cost limits.
- Undertake the concept scheming and designing of, structural and non-structural, composite components or assemblies
- Generate detailed specifications of various composite components as well as associated component testing
- Responsible for design and development of high-end race car components
- Definition of drawings, ply books and full documentation in English
- Developing the tooling, jigs and fixtures for component production, inspection and testing
What you need
- Have a degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- High-level knowledge and relevant experience in motorsport parts layout and the design of high-performance structural components
- Display sound knowledge and hands-on experience of carbon composite design technologies and laminate definition, including structural components and crash structures
