Description
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Dev/Ops engineer.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of FX and FI electronic market making and order management systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing market venue and client onboarding for the FX system
- Developing Python code for Quants trading analysis and automation for daily operation
- Providing front-line support for a 24/5.5 production of the FX and FI systems for both internal and external clients
- Resolving incidents and problems, maintaining and deploying application software
- Managing production incidents, service requests, and problems logged and resolved in the bank's systems
- Using SQL and KDB queries to provide ad-hoc requested information to stakeholders and assist in problem resolution
As a Dev/Ops engineer, you will also be expected to:
- Operate as part of a shift rotation, covering the hours of 07:00 – 18:30, including some bank holidays
- Provide weekend and evening coverage when required
- Perform weekend application upgrades, configurations, and patching across multiple environments in line with requirements and procedures
- Communicate regularly with the client base to provide status updates and document all activities for future reference
- Manage communication and relationships with third-party vendors
- Make decisions on incidents to help the business resume trading
- Proactively monitor alerts to respond to potential incidents in a timely fashion
- Work in a rotation to provide Sunday health checks and support for the FX market open in Asia
- Develop tools that can assist in day-to-day operations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in FX or FI low-latency/electronic trading systems
- Good experience in support/development for a trading desk, ideally in a tier 1 investment bank or hedge fund
- Strong skills in system engineering concepts, UNIX/Linux, networking, query language (KDB/Q/SQL), and at least one programming language (Java/C++/Python)
- Understanding of production management (ITIL) concepts
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (CS/Maths/Physics/Finance) and good written and verbal communication skills
