Description

We are seeking a Staff Developer Advocate, Enterprise to join our team. As a field-facing technical practitioner, you will be embedded in our enterprise motion, focused on helping engineering teams adopt and scale Temporal successfully.

Your primary focus will be the Temporal DevDays program, traveling on-site to customer accounts to deliver hands-on technical enablement tailored to each team's architecture, use cases, and adoption stage. Beyond DevDays, you will run enterprise office hours, deliver webinars, speak at conferences, create technical content, and serve as a trusted technical resource for enterprise developers in our ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Traveling to enterprise customer sites to deliver Temporal DevDays, our flagship on-site technical enablement program
  • Preparing and delivering hands-on labs, architectural walkthroughs, and workshop sessions to help engineering teams build confidently on Temporal
  • Collaborating with Solutions Architects, Account Executives, and Customer Success to scope and prepare for each engagement and ensure strong outcomes
  • Contributing sample applications, lab exercises, and reusable content back to the shared DevDays content library
  • Delivering train-the-trainer sessions where appropriate
  • Hosting semi-regular enterprise office hours
  • Delivering webinars on enterprise-relevant topics, including complex workflow patterns, AI-powered agentic backends, observability, scalability, and platform integrations
  • Partnering with the DevDays program owner, DevRel, and field teams to identify topics and formats that matter most to enterprise audiences
  • Speaking at and attending industry conferences, enterprise developer events, and meetups relevant to the enterprise engineering community
  • Producing technical content, such as blog posts, tutorials, architectural guides, diagrams, and videos
  • Gathering structured feedback from DevDays sessions, office hours, and enterprise engagements to surface product gaps, developer experience friction, and adoption blockers

Requirements include:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on distributed systems
  • Proficiency in one or more Temporal SDK languages (Python, Go, Java, TypeScript), with strong working knowledge of distributed systems, state management, and workflow execution concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical workshops, hands-on labs, or enablement sessions for senior engineering audiences
  • Experience engaging directly with enterprise engineering organizations, with an understanding of how large teams adopt and scale developer tooling
  • Experience mentoring others in a formal or informal capacity
  • Comfort with approximately 50% travel, domestic and international

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in a Developer Relations, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Engineering role, especially in an enterprise or field-facing capacity
  • Experience delivering enterprise hackathons, on-site enablement sessions, or structured technical workshops
  • Familiarity with Temporal Cloud and advanced Temporal patterns, including AI/agentic backends, LLM orchestration, Nexus, and saga
  • Existing relationships in enterprise engineering communities or with platform and partner ecosystems
  • Track record of speaking at technical conferences or leading workshops for enterprise engineering teams

Compensation:

  • Estimated pay range: $190,000 - $240,000
  • Eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan

Benefits:
