Description

As a Senior Staff Engineer in R&D Engineering at Synopsys, you will be responsible for owning end-to-end delivery of vECUs simulation solutions, from gathering requirements and defining architecture to ensuring successful release.

You will define, evolve, and implement scalable software architectures that align with product strategy and customer needs.

You will drive and lead advanced test strategies, ensuring deep test coverage, clear quality metrics, and robust, high-performance releases.

You will architect and scale automation solutions that streamline engineering workflows and boost team productivity.

You will lead cross-team initiatives to advance performance, extensibility, and standards compliance in simulation solutions.

You will provide technical direction and expertise in simulation techniques, setting best practices, and raising the engineering bar across the organization.

You will mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

You will collaborate with application and solution engineers to consolidate requirements and address customer needs effectively.

You will proactively identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

This role requires a B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

You should have 8+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated expertise in C/C++.

You should have proven experience in software architecture and full product development life cycle, including delivery and release.

You should have strong background in algorithms, object-oriented design, and design patterns.

You should have experience with socket-based communication and inter-process communication (IPC) frameworks.

You should have hands-on experience with simulation technologies and solid understanding of soft and hard real-time simulation concepts.

You should have familiarity with bus communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, SPI, etc.).

You should have proficiency in Git and CI/CD workflows.

You should have expertise in designing and scaling test automation frameworks for complex systems.

You should have experience with Software Defined Vehicles (SDV) and Virtual Electronic Control Units (vECUs).

You should have knowledge of automotive co-simulation standards (FMI, SSP), in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, Ethernet, SOME/IP, DoIP), and ASAM standards (XIL, A2L, MDF, DCM).

You should have prior experience in virtual platforms, digital twins, or advanced simulation environments.

You should be highly organized, detail-focused, and able to manage complex projects and shifting priorities under tight deadlines.

You should be a strategic thinker with the ability to implement goals that have a direct impact on department results.
