Description
We are seeking a Senior Flight Performance Engineer to join our Air Dominance and Strike Aerodynamics Engineering Team. As a Senior Flight Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for the advanced aerodynamic design and analysis for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. You will work with the flight test team to support planning, execution, and analysis of flight sciences-focused testing. Your responsibilities will include aerodynamic analysis of unmanned air vehicles, stability and control analysis, aircraft performance modeling and simulation, and aerodynamic loads generation.
You will have a BS or higher degree in Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of work experience as an individual contributing engineer. You will be able to travel as required for testing and have experience with test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination. You will also be competent in a variety of aerodynamic analysis techniques including hand calculations, vortex lattice methods, panel methods, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
You will have strong programming skills in higher-level languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) for internal tool development in a version-controlled environment. You will also have experience preparing formal documentation (i.e., specifications, test procedures, technical reports, etc.) and possess and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include experience with transonic and supersonic flow regimes.
