Description
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Product Manager to join our team at Ford Motor Company. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of an engineering team, ensuring there is clear direction, well-defined work, and strong alignment between product intent and technical execution.
As an Engineering Product Manager, you will work closely with engineers, engineering managers, and other partners to translate outcomes into actionable plans, support effective delivery, and continuously improve how value is delivered to customers and internal consumers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the day-to-day product delivery for a team, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with agreed outcomes.
- Collaborating closely with software engineers, engineering managers, and technical leaders to shape backlog items that are technically sound, well-scoped, and ready for delivery.
- Translating customer, business, and platform needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that support incremental delivery.
- Maintaining and evolving the team backlog, balancing new work, technical improvements, operational needs, and delivery commitments.
- Partnering with engineering to plan and sequence work effectively, managing dependencies and trade-offs while maintaining a sustainable delivery pace.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a technical product management or delivery-focused role working closely with software engineering teams.
- Strong experience working with software engineers on complex, technical products or digital capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems into well-defined, deliverable units of work.
- Solid technical understanding of modern software systems, enabling effective collaboration and trade-off discussions with engineers.
- Experience working in agile, iterative delivery environments with a focus on incremental value and fast feedback.
