About the Role
The Edge browser is a core strategic product and key entry point to Microsoft’s new AI ecosystem, serving hundreds of millions of users daily. As the hypercompetitive AI browser ecosystem evolves, the Edge team is focused on continuing to lead. The Edge Web Platform team is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our Rendering team to help deliver high quality, interoperable web experiences by shaping how modern web content is rendered, animated, and interacted with across platforms.
Accountabilities
- Develop and improve web platform features in Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
- Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
- Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on the needs of our customers and web developers.
- Contribute directly to the Chromium project for aspects that can be shared with other Chromium-based browsers.
The Candidate we're looking for
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Technical skills:
- Cross-platform development experience.
- Experience contributing to a large-scale software engineering project.
- Design, coding, and debugging skills in modern programming languages.
