Description
We are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer to join our team in Seoul, South Korea. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting customers in achieving their engineering goals through simulations for optics/photonics applications. This includes semiconductor, high-tech, aerospace/defense, and automotive industries.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leveraging domain expertise to support customers in achieving their engineering goals through simulations for optics/photonics applications
- Assisting with proof-of-concept requests and providing technical support for both new and existing customers
- Creating scripts and automating workflows, as well as developing and updating use cases, application examples, and technical documentation
- Leading training sessions, technical workshops, and seminars, including designing course content tailored to customer needs
- Collaborating on journal and conference papers to promote new simulation approaches and share industry insights

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in optics or photonics, as well as experience with Zemax and a solid optics knowledge base. You should also be proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Matlab, or C++ for workflow automation. Additionally, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
