Join the team at Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. in Benicia, California, where we continue to take the industry to the top. As a Buyer/Planner, you will be responsible for purchasing and planning the manufacture/assembly of our products.
This role involves coordinating activities involved with procuring goods such as raw materials, tools, parts, supplies, and corresponding with vendors to ensure timely delivery, within budget, and meeting our high standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requirements for various production materials
- Evaluate items for cost competitiveness and establish cost reduction programs
- Recommend new sources and suppliers, negotiating blanket purchase contracts to deliver products at the lowest total acquisition cost
- Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances
- Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
- Assist with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
- Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to the production team on a routine basis
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner
- High School or some college
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) ability
- Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints
- Strong interpersonal skills with a well-balanced presence
- Strong mathematical skills
- Able to work on own and within a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP systems
