Description

As an assembly technician at CX2, you will play a crucial role in assembling drones and electronics assemblies. Your daily tasks will involve working with engineers and technicians to read and interpret work orders, performing light repairs, and using hand tools and soldering stations.

The role requires flexibility and a willingness to learn new assembly processes and product lines. You will work on full drone assemblies to subcomponents, and the builds change frequently, offering room for growth and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing and engineering teams to perform final assembly of drones and antenna assemblies
  • Solder electrical components and install wire assemblies
  • Complete all work instructions
  • Document non-conformances and recommend improvements to builds
  • Be flexible and willing to learn new assembly processes and product lines

Success Metrics:

  • High-quality builds with minimal rework and clean workmanship
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and identify and solve assembly issues
  • Attention to detail with physical work and paperwork

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using hand tools such as drills, torque wrenches, and socket sets
  • Experience using measurement tools like rules and calipers
  • Experience reading and following work instructions with attention to detail
  • US citizen or person (Green Card holder) with the right to work in export control defense manufacturing

ITAR Regulations: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Bonus Points:

  • Practical soldering/desoldering skills
  • Familiarity with dimensional inspection tools: micrometers, calipers, dial height gauges
  • Hand fabrication experience: Carbon fiber layup, chop saws, drill presses, and similar
  • Familiarity with machine operations: CNC Router job loading, CNC Milling, Vacuum forming, test ovens
  • Familiarity with packaging and shipping or inventory operations
  • Experience working with AS9100D/ISO9001 manufacturing requirements for defense manufacturing
  • Certified Forklift Operator
  • HAZMAT Certification

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting or carrying requirements (e.g., lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Standing or walking for long periods
  • Repetitive motions (typing, assembly work)
  • Bending, kneeling, climbing, or crouching
  • Exposure to environmental conditions (noise, heat, hazardous materials)
  • Use of equipment or manual dexterity requirements
