Description
We are seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to oversee the end-to-end procurement and production planning process for our products. This role is pivotal in coordinating raw material acquisition, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring all parts and supplies meet our rigorous quality standards. The ideal candidate is an ERP/MRP expert with extensive experience in diverse material sourcing and subcontract management.
Responsibilities: Process purchase requirements for various production materials Evaluate items for cost competiveness and establish cost reduction programs Recommend new sources and suppliers Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules Develop and maintain Bills of Materials Assist with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to production team on a routine basis
Requirements: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner/Purchasing Agent Experience in Sourcing new suppliers and competitive bidding High School or some college Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints Strong interpersonal skills and a good presence Strong math & computer skills Able to work on own and within a team environment Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Office with focus on Excel) and MRP systems
