Software Engineering Manager

As a Software Engineering Manager at Focusrite, you will play a key role in shaping best practices and fostering a strong engineering culture, while working closely with Product Owners and Technical Leads to help balance quality, flow, and product delivery.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Managing the delivery capabilities and efficiency of your teams, including championing good engineering practices.
• Working closely with Product Management, ensuring team priorities are aligned to deliver on the Product Roadmap and Engineering Strategy.
• Facilitating communication and collaboration across teams, providing context and support.
• Championing knowledge-sharing, including appropriate documentation, team demos, and communities of practice.
• Guiding the development of engineers through regular feedback, 1:1s, and career development conversations.
• Shaping hiring practices to attract the right talent and improve onboarding processes.

Requirements:

• Experience leading teams and helping them work well together.
• Experience mentoring teams in Agile and DevOps environments.
• A passion for helping others achieve ambitious goals while advocating for technical excellence.
• A background as a senior software engineer with a strong grasp of embedded software development (C/C++), working on cost-sensitive product architectures.
• A love of music and ideally audio technology!
