Porsche Engineering Romania is seeking an experienced iOS Developer to join their team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. As an iOS Developer, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and shipping high-quality code for iOS applications that integrate with Porsche infotainment systems. You will work on projects that span technologies, systems, and processes, collaborating with team members and clients to build complex applications and research all needed technologies to deliver high-quality and innovative customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive architecture decisions across iOS applications (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, CarPlay)
  • Design and implement scalable, modular, and reusable components
  • Guide the team on best practices in Swift / SwiftUI, app structure, and maintainability
  • Act as a technical reference point for the team (code reviews, design discussions, trade-offs)
  • Contribute to and influence technical roadmap and long-term mobile strategy
  • Ensure high engineering standards (performance, reliability, testability)
  • Collaborate closely with backend, embedded, and system teams in an automotive environment
  • Identify and introduce technologies or approaches that improve development efficiency and product quality
  • Support the growth of the mobile team through mentoring and knowledge sharing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or an equivalent education
  • Several years of experience in iOS programming
  • Experience in developing applications for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and CarPlay, with a robust architecture and reusable modules shared among different app components
  • Experience in developing with Swift and SwiftUI
  • Proven ability to design modular, maintainable systems (not just features)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile
  • Experience evaluating or working with cross-platform architectures (e.g., Kotlin Multiplatform) and understanding their strengths and trade-offs vs native
  • Previous work experience with interacting with cloud systems is considered a plus
  • Good knowledge in agile software development; skilled in the use of tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git
  • English language is mandatory, and German language is considered a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as a high affinity for delivering first-quality engineering services to the customer
