Description

As a Senior Consultant at Porsche Consulting GmbH, you will be part of a team that helps leading companies transform their operations to achieve higher productivity, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness along the entire industrial value chain.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing integrated vision statements for digital production, from connected facilities to IoT architectures and seamless shopfloor integration.
  • Designing data-driven use cases, such as predictive maintenance, AI-supported quality control loops, production optimisation, and autonomous control systems, and overseeing their technical and organisational implementation.
  • Planning new production sites and optimising existing plants using modern planning methods, leveraging digital twins to simulate material flows, capacities, and ramp-up scenarios.
  • Supporting the industrialisation of new products and ensuring successful production ramp-up, from strategic planning to pilot phases and stable series production.
  • Evaluating automation potential, developing innovative production concepts, and implementing economically viable robotics and automation solutions.
  • Identifying sustainable levers to reduce manufacturing costs, increasing productivity, and optimising resource, energy, and material usage.
  • Establishing high-performance production systems based on lean principles, implementing performance management structures, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be involved in various other tasks, including:

  • Analysing and optimising production and industrialisation processes.
  • Developing smart factory roadmaps and digital architecture.
  • Designing and implementing data and AI applications in production.
  • Planning factories, production networks, and layouts, including simulation and digital twin.
  • Managing ramp-up programmes and industrialisation projects.
  • Identifying and realising cost reduction and efficiency potential.
  • Introducing operational excellence systems.
  • Leading interdisciplinary transformation projects.
  • Conducting management workshops and steering committees.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong academic background in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or business administration.
  • Several years of experience in a top management consulting firm or in industry, preferably in operations, production, industrial engineering, or digitalisation.
  • In-depth expertise in at least one of the following areas:
  • Smart Factory / Industry 4.0
  • Data & AI in production environments
  • Factory planning / Digital Twin
  • Ramp-up & Industrialisation
  • Lean Production / Operational Excellence
  • Automation & Robotics
  • Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical understanding combined with business acumen.
  • Confidence in presenting to top management.
  • Excellent German and English language skills, as well as a willingness to travel.
