Description

We are seeking a Steel Buyer to join our raw materials purchasing team. As a Steel Buyer, you will be responsible for negotiating steel pricing contracts with Integrated Mills, Mini Mills, and Service Centers for flat roll and bar stock. You will also work with our Ford of Mexico customs team to ensure legal requirements are met and to limit tariff burden and ensure USMCA compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

Negotiating steel pricing contracts with suppliers Working with the Ford of Mexico customs team to ensure compliance with legal requirements Identifying cost-saving opportunities and bringing ideas to fruition Assisting in the closure of material shortages Treating suppliers with respect while holding them accountable for product quality, cost, and delivery

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong negotiation skills, a proven history of working collaboratively with others, and the ability to analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.

In addition to your technical skills, you will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and external partners.
