As a Production Supervisor Tool & Die, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.
Responsibilities
- Coach safety, quality, and productivity to ensure objectives are met through standardized work
- Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
- Communicate and recognize team members
- Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
- Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
- Create a conducive work environment for the team
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
- Coordination of Safety Operating System activities
- Lead skilled trades/die maintenance personnel to evaluate Die Readiness requirements
- Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs
- Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements
- Monitor day-to-day production processes
- Understand and apply expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels, and pierce operations
- Coordinate major and minor die repairs
- Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
- Assist and teach die maintenance troubleshooting techniques
- Ensure start-up readiness for production
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
- Identify and correct safety hazards and unsafe practices
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Fundamental working knowledge of major automotive die forming
- Ability to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 years of experience
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Demonstrated leadership in ONE FORD behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or completion of Die Maker apprenticeship
- 3-5 years of automotive experience, preferably in Body shop/stamping/subassembly
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of constraint management principles
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
