As a Production Supervisor Tool & Die, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coach safety, quality, and productivity to ensure objectives are met through standardized work
  • Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Communicate and recognize team members
  • Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
  • Coordination of Safety Operating System activities
  • Lead skilled trades/die maintenance personnel to evaluate Die Readiness requirements
  • Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs
  • Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements
  • Monitor day-to-day production processes
  • Understand and apply expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels, and pierce operations
  • Coordinate major and minor die repairs
  • Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
  • Assist and teach die maintenance troubleshooting techniques
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
  • Identify and correct safety hazards and unsafe practices

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Fundamental working knowledge of major automotive die forming
  • Ability to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in ONE FORD behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or completion of Die Maker apprenticeship
  • 3-5 years of automotive experience, preferably in Body shop/stamping/subassembly
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
