Responsibilities
The Team Manager – Tool & Die at BlueOval City – Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center (TEVC) will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from ground up.
Safety & Environment: Enforce compliance with government and corporate standards (OSHA, Arc Flash, Pro-Tag). Lead proactive safety activities, including Pre-Task Analyses and Construction Service Safety audits, to ensure a zero-injury workplace.
Quality & Improvement: Drive data-driven processes to improve First Time Through (FTT) and reduce scrap. Utilize Global 4D/8D processes to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
Maintenance Strategy: Execute standardized preventive and predictive maintenance plans to maximize equipment effectiveness. Oversee the Maintenance Operating System (MOS) and deliver on Ford Total Productive Maintenance (FTPM) metrics.
Launch & Delivery: Coordinate resources to support facility launch schedules and budgetary targets. Champion constraint analysis to eliminate bottlenecks, monitor production runs, and facilitate seamless shift-to-shift transitions.
Cost Management: Manage departmental budgets and optimize Maintenance Cost Per Unit (MCPU). Oversee material control, including spare parts inventory and repair/rebuild programs, to ensure operational reliability.
People & Leadership: Coach and mentor skilled trades teams to foster a "One Team" culture of accountability. Manage staffing, production scheduling, and policy deployment (SQDCPME) while ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or related technical field preferred).
- Professional Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Maintenance or Engineering within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role, specifically managing engineers or technical teams.
- Proven experience in production operations and assembly manufacturing processes.
- Technical Expertise:
- Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal forming, die construction, and material behavior (metallurgy).
- Practical understanding of mechanical and servo press systems.
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Software & Tools:
- Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM systems and exposure to stamping simulation software (e.g., AutoForm, STAMP).
- Problem Solving:
- Demonstrated ability to lead structured problem-solving initiatives using 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), or similar methodologies.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of constraint management principles
- Safety and Quality experience preferred
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
