Description

As a Production Supervisor-Tool & Die at Ford Motor Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality vehicles. This supervisory leadership role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and coach a team to achieve key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Communicate and recognize team members' achievements
  • Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply and tooling expense targets
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks
  • Perform basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
  • Coordinate Safety Operating System activities including overhead safety, lifting, and rigging and Energy Control and Lockout procedures
  • Lead skilled trades/die maintenance personnel to evaluate Die Readiness requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, output, and up time.
  • Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections and repairs to minimize down time
  • Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time
  • Monitor day-to-day production processes, Draw panel formability, last hit process, contamination investigation
  • Understand and expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels, and pierce operations
  • Ability to coordinate major and minor die repairs
  • Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
  • Assist and teach die maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
  • Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed
  • Perform other related duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory and/or manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends
  • Position is currently for 1st shift: 10pm-6am, however, applicants must be open to work any shift and hours
  • Fundamental working knowledge major automotive die forming
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in difficult and stressful situations
  • Two-way communicator who actively listens to hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers
  • Highly committed to continuous improvement, while applying innovative solutions with a customer first mindset
  • Create a culture of safety and apply and implement workplace policies
  • Administer the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) consistently and effectively
  • Values different opinions & is open to ideas & perspectives from others
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in Ford OS (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

Salary

This position is a salary grade 6-7 and ranges from $72,480-141,360.
