Description
We're looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Engine Castings team as a Category Implementation Buyer. As a key member of our purchasing team, you'll be responsible for delivering cost, quality, and delivery targets for the Engine Castings Commodity. You'll develop key relationships cross-functionally within Ford and with our supplier partners, monitoring and adjusting our strategic direction for the commodity. Your work will contribute to establishing a robust supply chain, enabling us to continually produce the vehicles our customers want.
In this dynamic role, you'll work closely with Product Development to understand the latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends. You'll lead global supplier negotiations to support Quality, Cost, Delivery, Resilience (TVM, E2E, CRID, etc.) and develop action plans to achieve these goals. You'll also provide direct support to Supplier Quality and Material, Planning & Logistics where part quality and shortages become prevalent.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of direct automotive procurement and supply chain experience. You should be a leader who can challenge existing processes and identify areas for improvement. You'll need to be able to travel as required to supply partners and hold effective working-level meetings with suppliers.
