Security Officer

We are seeking a Security Officer to join our team at McArthur Glen in Ashford. As the public face of the Security Team, you will be responsible for ensuring exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Nights) 6pm to 6am, 42 hours per week Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact with visitors and tenants, delivering first-class customer-focused service
• Conduct regular patrols of the shopping centre, being proactive and looking for opportunities to assist visitors
• Safeguard the site, ensuring a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors and tenants
• Manage incidents in accordance with site policies and procedures
• Liaise with the site control room, reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are briefed and supported
• Report any unsecure areas of the site to the Control Room immediately and take action to resolve
• Record and log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives
• Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies, keeping the Centre team informed
• Monitor and surveil suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies
• Maintain vigilance and highlight/manage unauthorised access by banned individuals
• Adhere to radio procedures and notebook policies
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

Required Skills and Experience:

• Professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful demeanour
• One team approach
• Ability to take ownership of situations and ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary
• Respect for all staff and visitors within the shopping centre
• SIA and CCTV license essential
• First Aid Training
