Description

We're seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead and manage unionized hourly personnel at our Casselman Parts Distribution Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost, and Productivity. You will also be responsible for creating a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
  • Carry out Company practice/policy in the areas of work expectation, discipline, training, and personnel administration
  • Deliver objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost, and Productivity
  • Encourage a positive working relationship with UNIFOR employees and Leadership
  • Calculate daily labor hour requirements to ensure proper utilization of manpower
  • Coach Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Build employee capability, communication, and recognition
  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility
  • Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of product to customers
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities
  • Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and cross-functional communication

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Professional experience in a warehouse, supply chain, or Unionized environment
  • Ability to assign work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
  • Availability to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/evening) as required

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management, and 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or warehousing environment with unionized workforce.
