Description
We're seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead and manage unionized hourly personnel at our Casselman Parts Distribution Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost, and Productivity. You will also be responsible for creating a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
- Carry out Company practice/policy in the areas of work expectation, discipline, training, and personnel administration
- Deliver objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost, and Productivity
- Encourage a positive working relationship with UNIFOR employees and Leadership
- Calculate daily labor hour requirements to ensure proper utilization of manpower
- Coach Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
- Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks
- Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
- Build employee capability, communication, and recognition
- Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility
- Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of product to customers
- Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities
- Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and cross-functional communication
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or equivalent
- Professional experience in a warehouse, supply chain, or Unionized environment
- Ability to assign work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
- Availability to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/evening) as required
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Management, and 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or warehousing environment with unionized workforce.
