We're looking for an experienced Account Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Account Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for timely, accurate, and complete processing of purchase invoices and payment flows. You will work closely with Finance, Procurement, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial administration. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving internal controls related to Accounts Payable.
Your main responsibilities will include: Verifying and booking invoices (including VAT coding) Monitoring payment terms and approval processes Handling discrepancies, reminders, and supplier inquiries Maintaining documentation, master data, and payment templates Actively contributing to process improvements within Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay Providing service-oriented support to internal stakeholders
As an Account Payable Specialist, you will also be responsible for executing and documenting key controls (SOX), such as: Three-way match controls Segregation of Duties (SoD) monitoring Controlling timeliness and completeness of postings Reviewing and following up on exception reports
You will also support the preparation of audit files for internal and external auditors, participate in walkthroughs and test procedures, and contribute proactively to process standardization, simplification, and automation opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will need: MBO+/HBO degree, preferably in Finance/Business Administration At least 2-3 years of experience in an AP role Knowledge of SAP Ability to work accurately, communicate effectively, and think ahead Experience in Accounts Payable or financial administration Ability to work in an international environment Client-focused and solution-oriented mindset Good command of Dutch and English languages
