Job Title: Service Utility
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Service Utility to join our team. As a Service Utility, you will play a vital role in maintaining the overall smooth running of our service operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver requisitioned items to all Restaurants, bars, and lounges and ensure proper storage of contents.
- Assist service staff in preparation and cleanup duties for all restaurants, pantries, and assigned galley areas to ensure public health standards are met.
- Collect and organize all restaurant equipment throughout the vessel and relocate items to their appropriate outlets and lockers.
- Assist waiters with secondary service tasks, including polishing duties and general checkouts of outlets.
- Silver polish all silver items from the restaurant operation.
- Set up mise-en-place as directed by supervisors and outlined in daily working schedules.
- Assist in delivering food items and setting up dining accordingly.
- Comply with all company guidelines regarding uniforms and personal hygiene.
- Follow company standards and policies as outlined in the CBA booklet.
- Assist loading or luggage teams as per supervisor's schedule.
- Familiarize yourself with the content of the HESS-MS.
- Segregate and remove garbage from venue outlets and sanitize garbage containers.
- Assist with breaking down trays at all dishwashing areas.
- Communicate any maintenance needs or concerns to respective outlet supervisors.
- Assist bartenders with daily events and beverage stations.
- Attend weekly trainings regarding HESS or job-related risk assessments, including weekly crew drills.
- Maintain current knowledge of the ship's regular events and special events and functions by reviewing the daily schedule to provide guests with accurate information.
- Follow all related procedures set by the company on a daily basis, ensuring fellow coworkers abide by them.
- Responsible for deck setups and breakdowns as directed or scheduled.
- Assist with the cleanliness of decks and deck furniture, ensuring deck chairs are maintained throughout the day.
- Ensure safe storage of all deck equipment, such as tables, chairs, umbrellas, and cushions, according to safety regulations.
- Set up and break down Pier Service on specified days and man the Pier as scheduled.
- Monitor deck service and assist service staff if needed.
- Assist restaurant outlets in distributing food trays to service stations and collecting soiled trays back to dishwashing areas.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or similar education.
- Work experience within the hotel industry, preferably on a cruise ship.
- Strong command of the English language combined with good written skills.
- Basic F&B knowledge of beverage operations and service.
- Knowledge of public health and sanitation regulations/procedures.

- Work conditions: working on a cruise ship is very different from any land-based occupation, working hours are longer and work is more intense due to the constant demand of guests.
