Description
At Bayer, we're seeking a Material Logistics Specialist to contribute to meaningful work in our local manufacturing plants. As a Material Logistics Specialist, you will provide process expertise for warehousing and material logistics, including receiving, shipping, inside material handling, outside material handling, warehousing, and/or inventory control. You will provide training according to detailed warehousing and material logistics processes and procedures. Additionally, you will act as a backup to the Process Leader and may be assigned special projects as determined by department leadership.
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Subject matter expert for key processes within warehousing operation
- Assist the Process Lead with training needs, including giving guidance to new trainees and material logistics clerks on complicated aspects of material logistics processes
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to contribute to continuous improvement and lean supply chain initiatives
- Physical transport of materials and timely and accurate completion for all required SAP transactions using appropriate PPE and material handling equipment
- Identifies inventory process flow/procedure gaps and makes recommendations/implements for continuous process improvements
- Follows all documented processes and procedures, to ensure material traceability and inventory accuracy
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years' experience in materials, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Ability to operate independently
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment
- SAP proficiency in daily transactions in one primary logistic function
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations to support cross-functional interactions
- Working knowledge of production planning and procurement
Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree and the ability to operate a powered industrial truck (fork truck).
As a Material Logistics Specialist, you can expect to be paid a base wage of $25.00 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
