Description
We are looking for an experienced professional to join the company's Production Engineering Support team.
Millennium's Production Engineering is responsible for the production systems, including Trading software, environment management, and software deployment. It involves working closely with a variety of other Technology teams at Millennium, including Level 1 Trade App Support, Developers, QA Testers, and Infrastructure Technology, as well as with Portfolio Managers and Traders.
The key strategy for Production Engineering revolves around automation logic and tools, to allow management of a continually larger enterprise footprint. We use a combination of in-house and industry-standard tools for configuration and application deployment solutions, and leverage frameworks which can quickly provide a holistic view of the overall platform.
We provide significant value-add during the release process, and ensure quality software is delivered in a timely manner.
Principal Responsibilities
- Build, develop and maintain a reliable, scalable, and integrated platform for trading strategy monitoring, reporting, and operations.
- Work with portfolio managers and other internal customers to reduce operational risk through:
- Implementation of monitoring, reporting, and trade workflow solutions.
- Implementation of automated systems and processes focused on trading and operations.
- Streamlining development and deployment processes.
Technical Qualification
- 3+ years of development experience in Python.
- Experience working in a Linux / Unix environment.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Ability to understand and discuss requirements from portfolio managers.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience operating and monitoring low-latency trading environments.
- Familiarity with electronic trading concepts. Understands FIX protocol
- Familiarity with financial data.
- Broad understanding of equities, futures, FX, or other financial instruments.
- Experience automating SDLC pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, or AWS CodePipeline).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience building and deploying systems that utilize services provided by AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future.
