Description
As a Waiter at Persohotel, you will be responsible for creating a comfortable and elegant atmosphere by preparing table settings and maintaining service stations in accordance with company standards.
Your duties will include understanding food and beverage menus, actively upselling and making recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary needs, managing orders for assigned areas using on-board tools and technology, delivering food and beverages as requested, on time, in the correct service order and according to brand standards.
You will also ensure service procedures are followed during meal times, including clearing and cleaning tables to brand standards, cultivating a memorable connection with each guest by showing genuine interest during service and remaining fully engaged throughout the cruise.
Additionally, you will observe and identify guest preferences and adapt service accordingly, anticipating guest needs, and utilize expertise and knowledge of the ship's food and beverage outlets and their respective operating hours to provide flexible options for individual guest preferences.
You will maximize wine and beverage sales by presenting relevant choices in an inviting manner and using Medallion Class tools to deliver a personalized experience, ensuring that orders are recorded promptly and accurately through the on-board POS system.
You will promote Specialty Dining venues to enhance the guest dining experience and strive to exceed set targets, sensitively executing sales promotions and special event notifications as directed by the Restaurant Manager and Director of Restaurant Operations without interfering with the guest's dining experience.
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of three years fine dining experience as a Waiter or Restaurant Supervisor in a large hospitality setting, and a minimum of one year Cruise ship experience as Waiter or in a similar role.
You will also require good knowledge of fine dining service standards and international cuisine, good knowledge of wine, fluency in English, both verbal and written, and understanding of the fundamentals of guest service and the ability and willingness to provide outstanding service to our guests.
