D&R Engineer

This position is a unique Product Development Engineering job because our team designs powertrain solutions for high-profile applications, including the F-150, F-150 Raptor R, Mustang GT, Mustang Darkhorse, and Mustang Darkhorse SC.

We collaborate with Ford Racing on specialty products and provide technical expertise to the track teams when required.

Responsibilities

• Design & Release new and existing components/sub-systems
• Create & own the 3D models & 2D drawings for assigned components
• Lead sub-system Component Program Module Team (CPMT) activities
• Lead WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System); alerts, concerns, and notice processing
• Lead resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues
• Lead management of Tier 1 suppliers
• Work collaboratively with CAE resources in support of the analysis on the design responsible components (Structural, Thermal, CFD)
• Create, complete, approve DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation
• Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate quality documents (FEDE, ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAF’s, Global Integrator, OPTEX, APQP/PPAP, 543 Chart etc.) for program-specific sub-system responsibilities.
• Support all Program Meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, Change Control, etc…)
• Work directly with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and launch teams to support program requirements and resolve quality issues
• Interface with engine dynamometer testing team
• Interface with cross-functional teams, such as purchasing, mating components, calibration, & manufacturing
• Support prototype engine build Program Attribute Team (PAT) (BOM, inspection, and prototype fit reviews)
• Support travel, both domestic and international, when required

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or related field
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Strong Leadership ability
• Ability to support travel, both domestic and international, as required
