Description
The Material Control Supervisor is a full-time, onsite position responsible for leading a UAW represented workforce, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance and accurate inventory management. This position will oversee the day-to-day activities in the receiving, packaging, replenishment, picking, and shipping processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and directing a team of UAW-represented employees across various warehouse functions
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team and operational performance
- Ensuring accurate recording and reporting of employee time worked and absences in accordance with company policy and collective bargaining agreements
- Driving the achievement of critical operational objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, and Absenteeism within established timelines
- Engaging proactively with key stakeholders, including suppliers, LTL carriers, and DDS carriers to support objective delivery
- Fostering and maintaining positive working relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring fair and consistent administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of 1 year of leadership experience, and minimum of 1 year of work experience in similar roles, ideally within a warehouse, distribution, or production operations. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, company holidays, and overtime as needed is required.
Additional preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, prior experience as a warehouse or distribution supervisor, experience working in a UAW or other unionized environment, experience in warehouse, distribution, or production operations, knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably SAP/EWM, and knowledge of payroll systems.
