At Bayer, we're seeking a Unit Leader to join our team in Boone, Iowa. As a Unit Leader, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all manufacturing activities in the plant to produce high-quality products at competitive costs while adhering to safety and legal regulations.
Your primary responsibilities will include fostering collaboration in a flat network of autonomous entrepreneurial squads, adding value by guiding Unit and squad development, driving a culture of innovation, and serving as an escalation point for task and project prioritization, problem solving, continuous improvement, and conflict resolution.
You will also optimize squad members' performance, development, and empowerment through DSO principles, collaborate with internal and external networks to secure the support and resources needed for Unit success, and facilitate the co-creation of a shared vision and higher purpose that resonates with customers.
We seek an incumbent who possesses a Bachelor's degree in agriculture, an engineering discipline, Supply Chain Management, or a similar field with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience, or a High School Diploma or GED with 8 years of applicable experience.
Additional qualifications include basic user knowledge of standard computer programs, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment physical. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years' experience in managing and developing teams, leadership experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or the agriculture industry, and skill in leading, managing conflict, and negotiating with cross-functional teams.
This position is eligible for domestic relocation assistance and offers a competitive salary range of $97,760.00 - $146,640.00, plus additional compensation including a bonus or commission, and other benefits such as health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, and sick leave.
