Description
Ford Energy is a newly formed subsidiary of Ford Motor Company focused on grid-scale and commercial DC battery energy storage systems (BESS). The Technical Solutions Engineer Leader will serve as the senior Technical Solution Lead for the Ford Energy sales team and customers, leading a team of technical solution engineers and translating complex customer requirements into optimized BESS configurations.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Governance & Technical Authority: Serve as the final technical authority for all bids, ensuring alignment with the subsidiary's technical risk and governance standards.
- Product Roadmap & Closing the Loop: Formalize the 'closed-loop' process, ensuring customer technical requirements, market trends, and field learnings are systematically fed back into the Product Roadmap.
- Executive Influence & Solution Leadership: Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external executives, representing Ford Energy in high-stakes customer reviews and strategic business discussions.
- Technical Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment: Oversee the technical scoping and configuration of BESS projects, including system sizing (MW/MWh) and site layout optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in Applications Engineering, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, or Product Development within the energy or automotive sectors.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with executive-level stakeholders and driving technical governance.
- Strong understanding of power systems, batteries, and battery management systems.
