About the Role

Temporal is a durable execution platform used by thousands of companies for mission-critical applications. We're hiring a Staff Product Manager to own the developer lifecycle, focusing on tools and experiences for adopting Temporal, verifying code, and shipping with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategy for developer tooling across Temporal's platform.
• Own the testing story end-to-end, making strategic calls on test infrastructure direction and defining canonical patterns.
• Determine the approach for pre-deploy compatibility checking and drive it from concept to shipped product.
• Unify the CLI into one coherent tool for humans and AI agents.
• Collapse the getting-started experience so new developers reach a working project in minutes.
• Influence cross-SDK decisions and drive consistency.
• Define the developer-to-operator handoff.
• Partner with engineering leadership to shape team priorities and technical direction.
• Represent the developer tooling perspective in product-staff reviews and company-level planning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience, with significant time on developer tools, SDKs, CLIs, or developer infrastructure.
• Experience defining and driving a tooling strategy, making opinionated bets, and shipping them.
• Ability to hold a coherent vision across multiple tools and language ecosystems.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making quick decisions.
• Experience partnering with engineering leadership and influencing technical direction.

Nice to Have

• Personal experience building or contributing to a CLI, testing framework, CI pipeline, or developer tool.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, workflow engines, or durable execution concepts.
• Experience with cross-language or cross-platform developer tools.
• Knowledge of the competitive landscape.

Compensation

• Estimated salary range: $185,000 - $260,000.
• Eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
