Description

At Bayer, we're seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer I to ensure the consistent performance and reliability of systems and equipment within the organisation. This role involves analysing data to identify potential failures, implementing reliability-centred maintenance strategies, and developing improvement plans to enhance operational uptime.

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish metrics, conduct root cause analysis, and integrate best practices that promote long-term reliability and efficiency. You will provide electrical and instrumentation technology support for chemical manufacturing areas, delivering well-documented, technically sound, and cost-effective solutions based on recognised engineering principles and sound judgment.

Your primary responsibilities will include understanding and following Bayer's electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures, as well as contributing to the upkeep of these norms. You will also support improvement projects, including evaluating alternatives and performing cost-benefit analyses as needed.

In addition, you will specify instruments, control devices, motors, and other electrical components for plant applications, review and evaluate vendor information for instrumentation and electrical components, and prepare maintenance plans to restore equipment to operating condition in a minimum amount of time.

You will assist other area engineers and technicians regarding instrumentation and electrical performance, providing technical guidance as needed, and create and modify documentation related to process operation, safety, and applicable environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with 0-2 years of engineering experience, preferably in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment.

Required qualifications include fundamental knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems and their application in process operations, ability to work effectively as an individual contributor, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solid written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated commitment to working safely and supporting a strong safety culture.
