Manager, Software Engineering - AI Product (London, United Kingdom)

Figma is growing our team of creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Developer Tools team at Figma, leading teams working across Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more.

As a manager on the Developer tools team, you will:

• Manage and support a team of product engineers focused on building and expanding Figma’s developer offerings
• Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, and other functions
• Define strategy & roadmap for your team and execute on that roadmap with a high degree of autonomy, velocity, and craftsmanship
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to your teams and others that collaborate with your teams
• Recruit, mentor, and retain high performing engineers

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience managing software engineers working on products used by external users
• Proven track record of building AI-powered products
• Demonstrated ability to tie product and engineering work to clear business impact
• Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team
• Strong ability to build and operate fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution
• Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies

Nice to have:

• Experience building large scale systems using React, C++, and/or Ruby
• Experience building & maintaining open source software and/or libraries for developers
• Knowledge and experience in generative AI, RAG, the fine-tuning process and its application to creative products
