SBN - Sommelier

We are seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our team onboard one of our luxury cruise ships. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for overseeing the wine program, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of wine, including knowledge of wine lists, wine production, and wine service. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the wine program onboard, including inventory management and wine selection
• Ensure exceptional customer service, responding to guest requests and resolving any issues promptly
• Collaborate with the Bar Manager and Food and Beverage Manager to develop and implement wine programs and promotions
• Train and educate staff on wine knowledge and service standards
• Maintain accurate records of wine sales, inventory, and consumption
• Develop and implement wine lists, including selecting wines for onboard inventory
• Participate in wine tastings and events to stay up-to-date on new releases and trends

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Sommelier certification or equivalent experience preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hospitality setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina to lift and move wine cases and bottles
