Join the Ford Product Development team as a Chassis Software Engineer. You'll work on delivering breakthrough products and services that delight customers, focusing on advancements like autonomy, electrification, and smart mobility technologies.
Responsibilities
As a Chassis Software Engineer, you will:
- Develop control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and embedded coder, or by using hand-code.
- Create requirements and design verification plans for vehicle motion control functions.
- Perform software functional validation (model-in-the-loop/software-in-the-loop).
- Collaborate with feature and system engineers to develop software functions for new customer experiences.
- Calibrate and test features in prototype vehicles or on hardware-in-the-loop test stands.
- Travel up to 10% domestically.
Qualifications
You will have:
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- 3 years of experience with Simulink for model-based design or hand-coded C/C++.
- 2 years of experience translating system specifications into software implementation requirements and testing software functionality.
- 1 year of experience debugging software, using CAN tools, creating test cases, utilizing configuration management tools, and using requirement management tools.
