FBS Data Engineer

FBS – Farmer Business Services is part of Farmers operations with the purpose of building a global approach to identifying, recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent.

The Direct modeling team is focused on creating models to guide enterprise marketing decisions that will help promote brand awareness as well as boost sales through direct channels.

Responsibilities:

• Data infrastructure development:
• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using modern ETL tools and frameworks such as DBT.
• Automate data ingestion processes from various sources including databases, APIs, and third-party services.
• Design and implement data warehousing solutions using platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Optimize storage solutions for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.

• Data modeling and transformation:
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to support business analytics.
• Create and manage dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and other data structures.
• Transform raw data into clean, organized, and analytics-ready datasets using SQL, Python, or other relevant languages.
• Implement data transformation workflows to handle data cleansing, normalization, and enrichment.

• Data Quality Assurance:
• Conduct data validation and consistency checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
• Implement data quality monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

• Collaboration and stakeholder management:
• Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their data needs.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Data governance and security knowledge:
• Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Define and manage data access, controls, permissions, and audit trails.
• Monitor and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access and breaches.

Requirements:

• 4+ years working with Python and SQL
• Experience working with DBT and SnowFlake
• Experience working with Data Governance

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with Databricks
